All Journies have to start somewhere!

You can be grateful for your life and still admit that it doesn't feel like your own.

You can love your family deeply and still be tired of always being the one who holds everything together.

Have you ever felt like you were spending so much of your life being the doctor, caregiver, advocate, parent, breadwinner, or problem- solver that you forget how to simply be a person?

That was a feeling I came to know in a very personal way.

But my story with wellness didn't begin there.

I was born and raised in New York City, where life taught me early on to move quickly, work hard, and find my footing in a world that rarely stood still. I went on to dance competitively at the Division I collegiate level, studied psychology, and eventually became a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Each chapter gave me a different understanding of people, how we respond to pressure, how we find resilience, how much our environment matters, and how powerful it can be to feel truly supported.

Today I am a wife of 11 years, a mother of six, and a caregiver to my severely disabled mother.

Those roles have taught me something I could never have learned from a textbook alone: Health is rarely just one thing.

Health is physical, emotional, mental, relational, environmental, and deeply personal.

When you or someone you love becomes seriously ill, you quickly learn how complicated caring for a whole person can be. You become the researcher, the advocate, the appointment keeper, the encourager, the person searching for another answer when conventional ones seem to run out.

And while I am incredibly grateful for my family and for the privilege of caring for the people I love, I also began to see a gap.

There were places for fitness.

Places for mental health.

Places for nutrition.

Places for relaxation.

Places for conventional care.

But I kept wondering.

Where is the place that helps bring all of these pieces back

Where can someone come when they are struggling with illness or simply exhausted from holding everything together?

Where can a mother take a breath while her children are cared for?

Where can a service member prepare for what comes next?

Where can a caregiver rest without feeling guilty?

Where can someone who is already healthy invest in staying that way?

And where can people explore supportive, integrative approaches to well-being without feeling judged, dismissed, or like they have to choose between one philosophy of care and another?

That question became the beginning of Kilter Vale.

I drew on my background in psychology and the military, my experience caring for family, and my own journey exploring integrative approaches to care. I desired to build something I couldn't find locally.

Something grounded.

Something welcoming.

Something that recognizes that health isn't a destination reserved for people who are already doing well.

Sometimes it means rebuilding.

Sometimes it means preventative.

Sometimes it means healing.

And sometimes it means having somewhere to rest.

My faith has also shaped the way I see this work. I believe deeply in the dignity of the whole person and in the importance of serving others with compassion, humility, and intention. Kilter Vale is not about promising a perfect life or pretending there is one answer for everyone. It is about creating space for people to be cared for as whole human beings.

Why Kilter Vale?

Kilter Vale is my answer to a question that has followed me through many seasons of my life:

What would it look like if caring for yourself didn't have to mean doing it alone?

I envision Kilter Vale as a place where nutrition, movement, emotional well-being, restorative therapies, education, and genuine human connection can exist under one roof.

A place for the person who is sick.

A place for the person who is well.

A place for the caregiver.

A place for the parent.

A place for the person who simply knows that something needs to change.

I don't believe we have to wait until we are falling apart to deserve care. And I don't believe caring for yourself is selfish.

Sometimes, it is what allows you to keep caring for everyone else.

Kilter Vale is being built with a bigger vision for your well-being. One that makes room for all the seasons of your life.
